Beach Houses, Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands,
West Indies
Size: 2,800–3,500 sq. ft.

This cluster of beach houses is located in the Caribbean on the island of Providenciales. It includes five similar buildings, each two storeys high, with variations in size between 2,800 and 3,500 sq. ft., and all positioned a considerable distance from each other.

The development is planned to implement another 24 similar houses on the same 50-acre parcel over the next two years.

“Dr. Alberghini consistently demonstrated a keen sense of proportion and sensitivity to the integrity of the structure. ”

This villa is set in the luscious South Florida vegetation of Coconut Grove, south of Miami. The client loved the style of Tuscan villas, and they became the inspiration for the design of this classical home.

The villa’s main body consists of a succession of entertainment spaces that begins with a two-storey, barrel-vaulted foyer. Through a series of five arches the foyer flows into an expansive living room with a view of the gardens, fountains and swimming pool.

The dining room and kitchen are open from one side of this area, and the library, billiard room and movie theatre are on the opposite side.

Guests are accommodated in the west wing of the villa, and the east wing houses a six-car garage and servants’ quarters. The owner’s suites on the second floor are extensive and very private.

"Pier Paolo Alberghini is a very gifted designer, who has been able to incorporate our programs and specifications on the chosen sites, with very difficult restrictions for Building Codes and Lot constraints, always successful in implementing a classical, balanced and functional European flair to our buildings, exceeding our and our client’s expectations.”

Coral Gables

Miami, Florida, USA
Size: 14,800 sq. ft.

In this Florida enclave on the water, the client desired a Mediterranean design that would accommodate a couple with four children and include a large entertainment space, a double-height foyer, and a guest wing to host several guests.

The villa, under rigorous by-laws set by the Coral Gables Building Department and the restriction of a narrow triangular site, is successful in giving the maximum exposure to the water from every room.

The infinity-edge swimming pool in front of the living and entertainment area features several formal fountains and a whirlpool. This continues the water motif and harmonizes the property with the waterway.

“Over the years, I have had experience with many architects. I can assure you that Mr. Alberghini is the best of the best. Moreover, his business ethics, his timeliness and his professionalism are unmatched in my experience.”

This private residence in Toronto has the distinction of being the first building in North America to be conceived and built from the ground up using the principles of BioGeometry®.

Built to the highest standards, it is a true “green” building, green in the context of being true to nature and sensitive to Earth’s demands. The application of BioGeometry® has created a habitat that promotes a frequency of optimum health and well-being for the occupants.

Blending with the neighbouring houses (as required by the Building Department) and built with natural materials, this home is a beacon of health, affecting the surrounding neighbourhood. The BioGeometric principles used in the design and construction allow the house to have a positive effect on pollution and on any deleterious EMF emissions caused by high-tension wires and cellphone towers.

Dr. Ibrahim Karim, prime consultant on this project, sums up BioGeometry® as follows: “BioGeometry® is a science that deals with the Energy of Shape; it uses shapes, colours, motion, orientation and sound to produce a vibrational quality that balances energy fields. BioGeometrical shapes are two- and three-dimensional shapes especially designed to interact with the earth’s energy fields to produce balancing effects on multiple levels of biological systems.”

The "spring of energy" marked above in the yellow circle

BioGeometrical devices were connected to the "power spot" or energy fountain from Earth to enable the distribution of the beneficial energy throughout the whole building

Once the Site was cleared of the existing structures, an examination of the inherent Earth energies present was done, detecting the magnetic grids and other natural forces that were present. This is a custom procedure that is used to build according to BioGeometry®, since we want the design to conform as much as possible to the natural offerings of the environment.

The "invisible" forces -and yet very effective and detectable- if honored and respected, can enhance the building in a very positive way. This is how BioGeometry® principles respect the environment to build "green". It is a different "green" than is used in today's construction parameters and LEED principles. Not only is it a way to look at conservation and prevent pollution, it is also a way to build according to a natural harmonization with nature to take advantage of its gifts. As well, BioGeometry® can beneficially change the deleterious effects of the man-made pollution.

In this Site, during our assessment, we detected a "spring " of energy coming up from a specific spot and marked it (yellow circle in the photo), in order to distribute the energy to the whole construction. In ancient times this was a usual procedure: to place and build the walls according to the magnetic grids and underground water as much as possible, so that the construction would take advantage of the natural energy of Earth and have a building that resonates with a beneficial environment for the users.

Dr. Karim has rediscovered this procedure and refined it with the invention of BioGeometry® principles and devices that allow the achievement of what is experienced as healing and enhancing the energy for the users.

Situated on the shore of Lake Ontario, this home is designed to maximize the views of the water. While the street facade has limited fenestration to ensure privacy, the rear facade is completely glazed and allows an uninterrupted view of the lake.

The client desired a plan that would provide a grand entertainment space, featuring an indoor pool, fountains and rock gardens as a continuation and reinforcement of the outdoor landscape.

A sweeping semi-circular staircase leads down from the main floor to the entertainment area, and up to the second-floor bridge that connects the two bedroom wings. The bridge is covered with a vaulted frescoed ceiling

“Mr. Alberghini's ideas meshed with ours almost immediately. He was able to develop a plan that solved many of the problems that we were unable to solve, to our satisfaction, previously. We were very impressed with his knowledge and experience. His clear understanding of materials, structure, light, style and function resulted in expeditiously prepared drawings of a proposal. Frankly, there were some surprises but the clear advantages in what Mr. Alberghini proposed, quickly became compelling. Having now lived with this design for some time, it is hard to imagine a better solution. We would strongly recommend Mr. Alberghini as an architectural consultant who is perceptive, thoughtful as well as creative.”

Toronto

Ontario, Canada
Size: 9,000 sq. ft.

This formal residence, located in one of the most prestigious areas on the outskirts of Toronto, was designed and built with the intention of hosting royalty and diplomats from foreign countries, as well as accommodating large parties for musical performances, both indoors and outdoors on the terraces and in the gardens.

The circular driveway with formal gardens is planned on a split-ramp system, and the six-car garage is completely hidden from view of the main entrance. The two-storey, skylighted vestibule, with a gallery bridge above, leads to the formal living room. This space opens to a terrace overlooking the gardens and the pool in a continuous succession of spaces, fulfilling the entertaining requirements of the client.

The plan also achieves privacy for the five family members with a vertical separation of the sleeping quarters. The lower level with walk-out to the gardens and pool area includes an entertainment centre, exercise and spa facilities, and servants’ quarters.

“During the whole period of design and construction Pier Paolo was steady, reliable and efficient in meeting all our demands and even surpassing our expectations. He was rigorous in supervising the construction in its various aspects, including the financial.

He was always ready to hear our comments, adapt his ideas and mediate effectively in sometimes heated discussions about design and details. We are extremely satisfied with the results of all the work that we have done with Dr. Alberghini. We intend to work with him again in the future and would highly recommend him to any individual or company that is considering him for architectural work.”

Size: 9,300 sq. ft.

The residence is located in an exclusive Toronto neighbourhood on a wooded two-acre parcel.

The owner, a renowned doctor and periodontist who wanted privacy, specified a very simple facade facing the street and asked to have a marked separation between the activities of the day and the sleeping quarters. This was successfully achieved by planning the house with two separate wings in a V shape.

The 9,300 square feet encompass three floors, with a sunken living room and a walk-out lower level to a formal garden and tennis court

“Mr. Alberghini has designed three projects for me; a 10,000 sq. ft. residence, a country retreat and a dental specialist clinic. In all three cases he did a magnificent job.

Mr. Alberghini possess unusual creativity, insight and vision. He is unparalleled in his professional approach and attention to detail.”
